Just tinkering today and noticed a pipe missing from the cruise control vacuum unit. The missing pipe is highlighted in the attached piccie.

Any help greatly appreciated as always

I've had a look at rave, not very helpful. I'm not particularly concerned with the cruise control, in fact I don't even know if it works, the problem will be that there must be something missing at the other end.

That pipe goes from that tee joint to the brake pedal dump switch just above the brake pedal the switch releases the vaccumm produced by the pump thus stopping the cruise

Look in the area below the tee or bulkead as the pipes can perish and drop off or replace the pipe from the tee to the footswitch with new pipe. The foot switch can be tested by attaching the pipe back on or new pipe and it should be hard to blow down the pipe until you press the brake pedal when it will then be easy!

should be straight forward to rectify provided the foot switch is still in the pedal

BTW there are 2 switches on the brake pedal one is for brake lights you need the other one the one with orange wires to it and if yours is manual the clutch has also got one for the cruise too with grey yellow wiring (i think!)

Nick.

Sounds like one of those 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' jobs. By the look of the T piece the pipe has been missing for some time. If the only effect is for that pipe to knock off the cruise under braking (and I never use cruise), I can't see any problems in leaving it until such time as I need to get to the brake switch for some other reason.

Good comprehensive response Nick!

Cruise certainly won't work without that being a good air-tight connection - it forms part of the whole circuit, any leaks in which prevent operation....wouldn't be safe!!:eek:
