Looking for some guidance as to where this goes? The RHS front swivel leaking like a sieve so I've purchased a new ball and the fitting kit that goes with it for my 1999 TD5 Defender 90 (stake nut type). Its all back together and while cleaning up I've come across this oil seal in one of the packets in the kit box, at no point did I see the old one during strip down so I've no idea where it should have gone? Anybody can help me allocate where it should go...thanks

Just looked at the rule measurement, 25mm.
Stub axle indeed!:oops::D
I'll have a look tomorrow if the new top pin has an oil seal fitted around the abs sensor.....other than that I didn't do anything with the stub axle I pulled it & the drive shaft out and just pushed it back in when the ball was fitted. I replaced the stub axle bearing 2 yrs ago and it's only done 5k and it looked/felt in good shape so I re-greased it and put it back....where on the stub axle does it go as ? I assume it's behind the stub axle plate ?

Had a look this morning...took the disk shield off out with 2 bolts on the top pin & removed the abs sensor and there was the 24mm recess for the oil seal..fitted job done....thanks again Kwakerman you were spot on. TS
Np probs, glad its all sorted
