Where are they?

I have been told that my 1997 Tdi 300 disco has two fuel filters. Found the one in the engine compartment - wheres the other one? I have looked in the Haynes manual and checked the Rave cd - still don't know what I am looking for!

ah think you'll find what yer looking for is a fuel filter

mate, get undeneith the car, look at the fuel tank by the filler neck, pretty sure you will see another filter (or a sediment bowl) in line.

Yeesss.....established that. Where is it near the fuel tank? Is it box, clinical or flat type of filter? I have no idea.

Thank you! If it is a sediment bowl, is it a quick job to clean out?

yes, requires a 7/16" ring spanner to undo the bolt at the top, watch out though as diesel from the bowl runs down your arm no matter what way you try to avoid it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how about if yer a midget with really short arms and yeer can get yer arm above the sediment trap

Diesel certainly does run down your arm no matter what you do! Found loads of gunk in the bottom compleate with lumbs of mud! Not too happy about that!
