Where is the best place or best priced outlet to have a TD4 freelander ignition key cut?

Also how do you go about programming the key fobs for the TD4 freelander?

Thanks in advance

you will find it hard to get an ignition key cut as the transponder can not be read by 99% of keycutters. Only option is the dealership really...£30 to programme your bits, £40 for a fob and £130 for the key with chip!

£130 for a sodding key!? No need!

My original key has a transponder in it, so all 'high st' key cutters are out, it would have been nice as they only charge £6 or £7 to cut the fresh blade.

My original key fob works as it should.

I also have 2 extra spare fobs, they either need new batteries or reprogramming to my vehicle, as they do not activate/deactivate the alarm/locks.

The only option is, as I've spoken to Land Rover, is to give them my chassis details, providing them with proof of vehicle ownership, driving license, passport and V5, before they will even consider ordering me a 'new' key - cost of just the new key is £65 + vat

This could take up to 2 weeks to be delivered too.

Now to program the fob is also around £45 each + vat

So all in all I'd be looking at over £100 for a programmed fob and new key.

As for the stuff people are selling on eBay, I'm not going to chance it, I've not seen any fresh key blades for a Freelander.

Thanks
