When your vehilce is sold........

After almost 11 years of ownership, my SIIA has been sold!
Unlike all the other cars or bikes I've owned, I did my research on this one and it took almost five years of searching for a goodun! Not like my usual tactic of rushing into a purchase THEN realising what a complete DOG I had just bought!
I always name my cars or bikes after a song that fits with the vehicle, whether on the move or at rest, the truck was duly called 'Creeping Death' (from Metallica) and over the 11 years I had a whale of a time!
Unfortunately due to a change in job circumstances, a wife demanding something marginally more comfortable and a pair of mad dogs that would not stay in the back, it had to go.....
I now feel sad and empty and depressed and even though I'll be getting a bike for work I'm still going to miss that crazy old truck!
Am I a bit simple or merely sentimental at this loss? Am I alone in feeling like this or does anyone else want to share their sorry stories?
I'll leave the truck as my avatar for a while in rememberance but will have to sort a new one eventually.

Mate if that's your landy on the avatar then i'd be sad too ,i wanted to buy her on ebay but was too rich for my pocket.I don't know why but i think its a thing of beauty sorry to hear it's gone mate.

If i had to choose between me chop and me landy i'd be getting rid of the kids.

Keep thinking about selling my 110, but it is/was my first car, and my first Landy, and I've put so much work and blood and sweat and tears into it, it's almost become a part of me.

I just know that if I do end up selling it, one day I will regret it, if not straight away.

i sold my 110 a few years back, had it for around 2 year and i stood and cried whilst the new owner drove it away. theres just something about landrovers that make you feel the way you do

I think it might be something to do with the amount of time you spend sorting them... About as much time as I can spend with the wife :doh:

On a lighter note, I have just gained a 1.8i Freelander Braemar, named Rosie by the 6 year old daughter of the previous owner. I have never actually named any of the vehicles I have owned but for some reason I have decided that Rosie shall remain Rosie, probably because of the "Bon Voyage" card the youngster made and popped into the folder containing the vehicle documents. It seems the little girl was quite distraught with "Rosie" being retired (and possibly crushed) it was only after she was persuaded that Rosie was going to the farm that she seemed to accept Rosie going anywhere.

oh ye off little faith

As some of you may know I have been stripping down my first RRC. I was origanlly going to rebuild it, but time and money are against me so sold a lot of the parts off and cut up the rest. Didn't bother me until Monday when the scrap man came and picked up all the body and chassis. Miss the motor already. Even having another one doesn't help.

The first one was white the second one brown. Called them Bert and Ernie.

So no. Your not the only one that gets like it.
