when conering on some roads, bangs and shudders landy

hi i just bought a defender 90 200tdi converted but i found when i go round some bends but not all it bangs and judders feels almost loose. it feels as it coming from the front left i no the description isnt the best but its hard to describe any help to source the problem would be much apreciated.

That could be a few different things in the steering/front suspension. Check panhard rod mountings, and then start going through the rest.
Get someone to rock the steering while you check all joints, and go through the front susp. with a small crowbar looking for play in the joints and bushes.

i did think suspension , to check all steering etc would it be best to jack the whole front end up .

I don't, just hold the joints in my fingers while the missus rocks the wheel from side to side. More load on the joints with the tyres on the road

ok lovely job i will try this approach tommorow evenig , i need to get it sorted it feels a bit unsafe catches u out wen it wobbles,

Always worth checking the wheel nuts too
