Wheels squealing on roundabouts

Not had my FL long only about 3 weeks I was told by the previous owner that they didn't know that it didn't have a prop shaft fitted until recently and got a local (to him) garage to look out for a good one which was fitted just before I bought it.
Now I've noticed that when I go round circles I can some times hear a wheel squealing I think its a rear one should I be worried.

What happens if you reverse on full lock? If you feel the wheels hopping then I'd say the VCU has gone solid. Don't drive the car until ether the props are removed again or the VCU has been replaced. Driving any distance with a stiff VCU will destroy the IRD and DIFF.

I don't seem to have a problem reversing on full lock and easily reverse on tickover which I've read somewhere FL's struggle with when the VCU has gone.
Think I need to do the wheel off the ground and weight test see what happens.

On full lock in forwards or reverse mine is very slow & needs a little encouragement from the right foot. Not feeling or hearing any wheels hopping when I reverse. It self centres reasonably well, but not very when when almost straight. Last time I held the VCU after about 3-4 miles it was cool to touch.

Would it be tracking or a miss match of tyres maybe?

Mine had the same symptoms and I replaced the VCU before it did in the IRD
No more squealing from the tyres all good

Mine is squealing on the straights, stops when I ever so slightly bank right, starts when I ever so slightly bank left... I am hoping it's the end of the new handbrake cable rubbing on the new drum...when you say it WILL be the VCU it terrifies me, just broke the bank readying for the MOT! ;-)

I will have it off later... it's raining...not seen rain for a while...

The previous owner bought the car without a prop shaft fitted but didn't know he got his local garage to source a GOOD one and fit it just before I bought it, my problem is did the garage that fitted the prop shaft know how to test if the VCU is good.

Possibly there are different tyres on the front to the back the newer ones on the back.

I've just checked the tyre pressures first time since getting the FL the offside rear was 26psi all the rest around 29-30 hope this is the reason

Edit just had a ride to Morrisons and there are 3 roundabout's on the way it didn't squeal on any of them so heres hoping

Hot road surfaces and certain types of tyre can cause squealing to some degree or other.
Here in France road temps have been very high and mine with 4x Yokohama Geolanders and a re-con VCU last year squeals a lot. Driving round towns with lots of roundabouts or even on twisty back roads sounds like the soundtrack to a '70s action movie car chase.

Just bought a 32mm socket from halfrauds as I didn't have that size will try the test when the rain stops.

Mine used to squeal going round tight right hand curves, this only happened when the tyre pressure was low, topped them all up to 30psi this then stopped the squeal, changed all 4 tyres now.

Geolanders are very vocal tyres I've found.

Hugh, where'd you get the VCU from?

My Pirelli scorpion str's squeal on roundabout too. More often than not it happens just before the back end slides out.

I reduced my speed considerably and they still do it a bit. Some tyres do. Some don't. Happens more often in the wet. These are the first set of tyres I've had which do it. And before yer condemn (without testing it) ma vcu, it int fitted.
