Having just bought a 3 door 200 tdi i'm after doing a bit of off roading, ive seen the set of wheels i like which are modular 15 x 8 steels, but im having trouble understanding offsets.

i want a deep dish wheel so when i fit wheel arch extensions they dont look lost, these below say the offset is +8mm does that mean they are the opposite of a deep dish?, in the pic they look exactly what im after

5805165BKMO | 15x8 Black Modular

assuming its 35mm offset from the centre line towards the hub - so the tire sits futher out ....vs land rover standard wheels (disco /fender steelies ) which are offset to almost the outside of the rim meaning the tire sits closer in

see how your rim centres quite close to the OUTSIDE face of the wheel - they have positive offset.

your spacers give them slight negative offset .

-35 negative offset give them more negative offset.

sorry tried to copy and paste a reply someone sent me !!!

look at my threads i have a disco 1 too,
dont use wheel spacers !!!! mine came of when i was driving and i have heard it happen
to other disco's too !!

so offset wheels are better by far

I too opted for no wheel spacers.
I've got 16x8 Modulars with a -35mm offset:

hi

can you get full lock ?

as i have am just buying -35 offset wheels
for my insa turbo special tracks,

i was using a 50mm spacer on standard steel wheels in they still rubbed on full lock
