Wheel Carrier Tubing

Hi, i want to make myself a swingaway wheel carrier in a couple of weeks and just wondered what diameter of tubing is commonly used??

Its more the wall thickness thats gonna be an issue if it the strength your concerned about. And i dnt no

bt at a guess probably 30 - 40mm

Yeah thats what i thought, im gonna make a bearmach copy so im sure 40mm will be fine, its not like im making one of those self supporting single pivot jobbies

yer that should be fine. 3mm wall thickness. Most of the strain will be through the pivots anyway rather than the tubular structure.
