Looks like the black connector is still attached to part of an oil pressure switch.

IDE go oil pressure switch too, connect it to earth and see if the light comes on.

Ok, thanks, will do. If it's oil pressure switch, where is it located so I can connect it up again?

On the oil filter housing, just above and to the front of the filter.

If it is not connected the idiot light onthe dash should not be lighting up when ignition is on.

You can't plug that back cos it's snapped, as discool + mr glee have said it's part of the switch... you need a new one to connect that plug to
