What's this pipe?

Hi all, hope someone can help me to identify a pipe or something that I've got hanging down under my D2 TD5. Here's a couple of pics of it:

It seems to be running across the top of the front axle, but I can't see anywhere obvious it might have come from. Any ideas?

looks like breather pipe, hook it up out way some were tell you find route for it

++1. Looks like an axle breather, I think it hooks up in the engine compartment.
