Was just about to ask if the trailer was included :)
To be fair, I wouldn't sell it but only because it was a dream for so many years to own a blue one with a white roof! I paid £3,300 for it in 2018 and £850 for the trailer two weeks ago :) so if someone really wanted to give me £10k I would be nuts to say no, but I am bonkers so the answer would be no o_O

You may disagree. but I would suggest yours are the exception rather than the rule.
Dunno about that. Know others with them too. My brothers was on about 140k miles and it only expired because I drowned it in a very deep mud hole and it ingested way too much water. The one with lots of miles on has done lots of towing and hauling and motorway work in its life. Only engine issue was a snapped cambelt which bent some push rods. But all fixed up. One of the others lives in a vehicle that has done extensive CCV trials as well as farm work. Don't think it has had anything over than servicing. Last time I checked it was on something like 170,000 miles. Although it has been laid up for a years due to chassis rust.

I won’t be towing etc., and I do want a defender. I already have one which has a chassis which I am advised requires too much work but it has a 3.9L EFI V8. I was hoping to find a defender which I could put the V8 into eventually but preferably with a decent engine in that will do whilst I gather the finance to pay for the engine swap.
You already have a Defender? Why no re-chassis the one you've got.

The best price I can get locally is £5.5k including a new galvanised bulkhead and it is not something I could do myself so thought about buying another donor vehicle then selling off the good parts that remain from the current one.

There are still some cheap ones around. You just have to avoid the internet hype, and be willing to travel.
£300 a trip out of NI flying and £400 a trip using the ferry so multiple viewings unless all on the one trip would soon break the bank

Was reading back over this thread and noticed the debate was between 19j and 200tdi - does the 300tdi not measure up or it just didn't come up in the conversation?
