Whats the difference between a 3am and a 5am airflow metre's

Mine has a 5am airflow metre but not sure if it is faulty can get a 3am would it make a great difference putting the 3am on?
 
Yeh funny both get up a lot earlier than me anyway found one the same as mine so will wait and see if that cures it.
