Gutted, havn't had my landy long and due to unforseen circumstances i.e Mrs lost her job... so need to lose a toy..

Sounds very good. Sounds like it is worth more than £1000. I recently bought my series 3 for just under £500 and it is a lot lot worse than that. I would put the reserve at least £2000

2000?!?!? really?

Although slightly annoying and against eBay rules - get a friend to use auction sniper with your reserve to bid at 5 seconds. won't put people off bidding because it has a reserve and will ensure you sell for at least your reserve, or not at all.

a 2k reserve will see it left on your drive way though.

Try advertising it somewhere other than eBay.

sorry but you won't get 2k for it, no matter how much you've spent you'll never get it back, which is why i'm stuck with my S3 forever:rolleyes: you may get 1k if you're lucky, always odd how landy people will spend 100's on kitting up a landy /repairing it but don't ever want to pay a fair price t buy one!

I have just watched one on ebay, with no mot or tax sell on ebay for £1300?

I never spent that money to get it back, didnt think we would be in this situation. It not so much the money but the space and time, back to working away now .. so onyl come home once a week.. for a while.

Cheq plate... i can take it off.

Also forgot to say had new battery and rediator.

I would like £1500.00 apprecaite... more than most and less than some but will see how it goes I guess. it will hopefully have 13 months Mot tommrow.

ive seen ones on ebay being sold as projects (non-runners) and there going for like £800. so the condition of this one i think should go for a lot more.

Leave the chequer plate on, I think it looks okay but some people dont like it. Let the buyer remove it if they want to. Also gives protection to the body, such as wing tops when leaning over them to work in the engine bay...which is quite often on a Landy. Like I say , its all about individual taste. You should get £1,500 min.Good luck with the sale.:blabla:;)

i have to say that not long back i thought mine would be worth more selling it in parts rather than in one piece...
i dont think it will reach £2000 (IMHO) but will go for far more than £1000
it depends how desperate you are to sell it? what would you be happy to recieve for it? what do you think its worth? (remember we all think ours is worth a lot more).
i have also noticed that some vehicles attract a lot more people than others - i dont know why, maybe the write up is a lot better and more informative followed up with lots and lots of pictures.
start bidding at 0.99p - put a reserve on that your happy with (get a few of us to bid on it) and you never know - dont forget though the cost of putting it on ebay, compared with some other alternative forums such as this, petrol heads etc etc etc
hope my opinion helps you but please its only my opinion

Havn't you got anything else you can sell? :) has it got overdrive? that makes difference too. 1500 is pretty certain though with good chassis, and repaint, and service...

I could sell our lass.... but wouldnt get £1500 for her :)

I think its true what someone said when i was looking for a landy, if you dont do a little on a landy each week you will one day have to do alot. Just dont want her stood outside not moving and then when i come back, find that she needs loads of work.

No overdrive, i'm afraid... but will make sure the next one does:) I will post the link up when i'm sorted, got few bits I want to do first.... finish the painting off etc. so prob bout a week I will try it.

But I agree its a strange market, some adds I see on ebay I have no bids and i think, I would buy it. Other I think are quite rough and sell for loads. I guess if you want on and its near you you will pay what you will pay ?:)

I went to see a series 3. It had a nasty oil leak, hole in chassis needed 2 new doors and a lot of work needed. It sold for 1800 with only 3 months mot.

Wow.... Well rain has stopped me doing more painting... but not sure weather to sell as is... I was looking over it today and thought it looks really good... if I had to mention anything it would be eventaully it may need a new door top, and I wanted to put new seals on the doors... but that if I was being picky.

I might put it on a few sites and see if anyone is interested.

sorry to hear the news biker.
reckon best time to sell is when the snow comes, if it ever comes back this year.
earlier on, series were fetchinf 1500-2000 for a runner, 300 disco's were pushing 3-5k.
best of luck whichever way you go.

It surprises me how much series landies can go for sometimes. Ebay is a strange place...all it needs is two people to really like your landie and you may well get close to your 2k. I would personally set no reserve and just go for it! I have found that not having a reserve has the effect of encouraging bids in the first place, gets people watching it, and ends up selling for more. But of course you take that risk with not having a reserve!

Just a question, why did you spend £300 rebuilding a fuel pump when you can get a new, genuine LR pump for a quarter of the price? 549701 FUEL PUMP C/W GLASS BOWL | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series
