Right, I finally managed to get the screw out of the disc by wacking a flat bit in and then firing up my air impact driver!! but,,,, The disc was a different story, it would not budge, hours of banging and soaking in plusgas (which i did clean off!) she would not budge, so i did the big hub nut up and put caliper etc back on, couldn't feel any grinding when turning the hub but could not turn it far, no wobble at all though, so hoping the bearings survived!, wheel back on, still no play/wobble so good, but when i did hub nut up I stood on the ratchet as my torque wrench would not go up to 192 ftlb, i was a bit worried about damaging the diff or something but i did it as tight as it would let me with ratchet and small bar on the end, I burred the nut a little into the shaft but it didn't want to bend in with hammer and punch, so not sure what else i can do,
also when i did the hub nut tight I noticed some diff oil came out from the bottom of the plate behind the disc,,, is that normal!??
I also jacked the other side up and checked for play but that was ok,
will take it a few gentle trips and check it, hopefully i've saved it though as that disc is not gonna come off!!!
I couldn't turn the disc enough to bang it at different places, how are you supposed to turn it on a permenant 4x4 without all 4 wheels in the air?? or is that the only way?
thanks guys
To get the wheel to turn you have to have both wheels off the floor. But always remember to chock the front wheels first.
