I have a husky super winch on my 90 and it dose a very good job it pulled a range rover out of deep ruts no problem how big are your logs lol

I certainly wouldn't look at anything less than £500. I presume that you're after a long duty cycle so you'll need a reasonably high capacity winch, but speed isn't necessary, so something like a Husky would be pretty good. Maybe better might be a hydraulic, but they cost a fair bit especially when you consider you'd need a pump and other stuff to work it.

Best bet might be to work out exactly what you want this winch to do, cycle times, capacity needed then just have a look on various vendors sites, comparing the differences.

The COME UP winch 9000i . It's strong has good speed . Have pushed it to the limits , had one five years doing extreme work never missed a beat .

if i was using a winch for work it would be pto or hydraulic 100%

i only use a electric winch because if i tip over in competition and need it to get me back over i need electric power as i couldn't run the engine

Me 90 is my only car so I didn't want to put anything really heavy on the front and ruin the way it drives . line speed isn't important to me just want it to be strong and reliable . my mate has a warn m8000 but it isn't really up to the job . we nearly killed it winching some bushes out last year . I think it was just the amount of use we gave it not that it was particularly hard work for it

I too am looking to buying a winch, but I am at a lose when it comes to choosing. I am looking for either a 9.5 or 12 with Synthetic rope.

Out of the following, which ones can be trusted:

  • Warn
  • Warrior Samurai
  • Come Up
  • T-Max
  • Superwinch Talon
I'll be honest, I like what I see with the Warrior S12000 SAMURAI 12 000lb.

Ramsey are a very good winch, well worth fixing. small battery cables is what wrecks more winches. make sure you get/got big power leads

I can't read the tag to see what it is . just can make out a sticker with bushey hall written on it . tempted to strip it down clean it up and try it for the logging job . gonna have to get a solenoid and a control for it . any sugestions ? best start thinking about a winch bumper too
