Im looking for a good on fuel diesel estate. Thinking a focus or a mondeo estate. maybe even a golf or a passat.

Anyone recommend anything?

What's your budget? If you want cheap luxury then take a serious look at a Rover 75 diesel, the connies are about as good as you get for comfort, climate, leather, heated seats, FBH for the colds days (early modesl anyway).

The engine is the same BMW chain driven cam jobby as the Freelander Td4. Thanks to the K and KV series lots of folk reckon they are unreliable piles of ****e, the diesel isn't :D

My BiL has the V70, very good car, cost him more than my connie though and isn't really that much better, but if you want newish, that's probably what I'd for, or the Mundano at low mileage.

That looks realy nice manual/auto 300bhp is close to it's limit if it's running standard internals, awsome cars though, mine had done over 220,000mile when i sold it and would still see off a cossie :D

it was manual :D autos are for Sunday drivers . the guy who i got it off had done a lot to it. it had 180,000 , full Volvo history it was a lovely car ...sad to see it go but the local old bill didn't like it

I'd like to find a mint RRC LSE at the right money..:):D

Agreed...a true classic and a special vehicle to take out at the weekend. The ultimate Range Rover in my opinion. Did you know that the L322 with the 4.4 only just matches the power to weight ratio of the LSE 4.2? So much for progress...

When I read "What will your next motor be?" I was thinking 'engine'. Would really like to see a TDV6 in my 1971 109 one day.....an electrical nightmare to install but double the torque appeals.....I wonder what the breaking point of a Salisbury with an ARB airlocker is?
