What voltage range does a td5 temp gauge use from ecu ?

Hi I have a td5 1999 that is converted to auto with a disco gearbox, looks like a disco ecu has also been used as the temp gauge works in reverse ie hot = cold and visa versa.
I don't want to fit a defender ecu as the discovery ecu is set up for the auto box.
Does anyone know if this voltage out put for the temp gauge can be easily changed or is there another option?

Can anyone confirm the output voltage from the ecu to the temp gauge please, I have seen it should be 0v cold and 5volts hot for the defender and the opposite for the discovery if this is right I should be able to make a small signal converter to invert the 0 to 5v to 5 to 0v this would make the temp gauge work correctly but I don't want to re- invent the wheel if someone else has already come across this and fixed it.
Thanks Paul
