I'm setting up my shop again and was wondering whether to get a new lathe, I've scrounged a drill press and band saw from work, and was thinking of wasting a bit of cash on a new old lathe, I allready have a myford M4 and was thinking of something like a boxford, what do you guys with a machine have, or would like to have.

P.S. excuse the plug, but my old lathe (not the myford) is in the for sale section on this site.

Yeah I know what you mean, I've been to places esp now in the recession where good stuff has been chucked, but I've not had space or transport to do anything with.
Maybe when I retire I'll get a dock off shed and fill it full of that kind of ****e, if I live that long.

A Clarke...Yeah I know pretty crap/lmited really but it does me a turn! (pun, what pun?)
Wouldn't mind a Herbert 2D or a small Colchester but as I don't have a w/shop then I shan't be bothering. As it is the Clarke lives outside under a tarpaulin.

Toolco 920 chinese thing. S'OK for the stuff I want to make or repair. I would love a Colchester or something big, but space and money prohibit that.
The Machine Mart band saw is the BEST workshop power tool I have. So quick at cutting through 5mm plate for welding patches.
Got a VERY large vise (Columbian) that opens up to about 12" gap. That's what you need to push in bearings!
