Im going to change me rear bearings as they are making a grinding crunching noise when setting off and at slow speeds, I took the drive flange off and there ain't a lot left of the outer and loads of play, the locking nut and back nut were finger tight ( both came undone wiping grease off them) borrowed a box spanner off the guy over the road (who happens to have owned a few older landys and now a disco, handy) I tightened the bearing up but still loads of play

Also I'm no mechanic but shouldn't there be a seal in front of the bearing?

Basically I'm handy enough with a spanner but not having access to all the tools I used to, I need a list to make sure I have all the tools and bits ect.

Ie is it a 52mm box spanner or socket for the hub nut? How to gauge how tight with a box spanner and not a toque wrench

What is the socket need for the break calliper? Is got loads so splines on it,

Ay handy tips or tricks? Besides if a hammer don't work then get a bigger one?

I've already looked through that, mines got discs although basically the same it more the bolts that hold the caliber on, I've seem that you can use a 13mm socket but I tried that on them and it's a sloppy for and will round them off,

50mm socket from Halfrauds is less than a tenner.

ebay l for a bearing kit starts about £9 :D and goes upto £316 inc P&P

I guess you get what you pay for, although I'd want it to fit its self and be made of titanium and gold for £316

So is the hub nut 50mm or 52mm?
