Having just bought a pre-owned D4 I am about to try to find by beloved 18 yr. old D2 a new loving home. Interested people always ask for photos but, not knowing anything about the workings, I would welcome some advice about what to photograph! Obviously the outside would be an important one but, as it is an 18 year old lady who has covered 253,000 miles ( everyone put on by myself - no other driver except for mechanic ) the really important ones need to show .... what? It has a galvanised chassis on it and every 'system' is in good working order having had most of the parts/pipes replaced by originals (all receipted) over recent years. ( The handbrake cable was replaced this week!!) I know everything that has been done but I don't know where to photograph to show that they have been done and the condition they are in. I know where the little bits of corrosion on the bodywork are but the last MOT said 'there is corrosion starting on the inner wing' - where is that? I know it is not 'through' yet but......
I am not sure if it is possible for me to be able to get under the car, but I'll try! What I really need, if it is possible, is for someone to show me a quick diagram about the areas to get in the picture.
Any ideas would be most welcome and highly appreciated. Cheers.

How much are you asking for it ...…… the corrosion on mine was under the bonnet near the bulkhead on the
inside of the wing ;)

Can you send me some pictures please :)

I will certainly send you some pictures ..... as soon as I am able to take some relevant ones, hence my request.
I am away this coming week so nothing can be done until next weekend. As far as cost is concerned, I am open to serious and realistic offers but that cannot be estimated until I put together the photos together with a list of all the relevant and recent works/ parts that have been done/fitted and the 'extras' that go with it - 2 sets of wheels & tyres, dog guard, etc.etc.

Ok no problem what colour is the paint & interior. :)

Just advettise it with a good description and some decent outsode pics including the interior and see if you get any bites
The galv chassis means you will defo get some interest

Inner wing corrosion usually means inside the engine bay, but it could also be in the boot/wheelarch area at the rear.

I'd take a set of pics, front, both sides and rear, door sills with doors open each side, one of the engine and boot and a general pic of the inside and the dash, and whatever you can manage of the underside. With a file of paperwork including services and additions/changes etc I'd also lay them out strategically and get a good qualiy pic, nothing better for someone to zoom into and 'check stuff' .. :)

Don't worry. Enthusiasts wil probably ask for specific parts to be photographed, if you can't manage just say soif you can do so, take as good quality as you can of what they ask for. ie if they ask for the rear spring hanger mount, don't take a pic of the lower shock mount for instance.

Ask again here if you need any more help or someone asks for something you don't know.

Good luck, wish I had the money, I'd be interested ... ;)

At last, I have got to the point of having the vehicle cleaned and valeted ( no one else will want my mess!) on Monday. I will then take a basic set of photos and prepare some king of text. I'm glad I don't do this for a living! If I could have found one, I would have engaged a Writer-upper as well as a cleaner and valeter!!!!
Many thanks to all for your help with this task.

At this very moment I am awaiting a phone call to say that delivery of my newly cleaned motor is about to happen.:) Need to know so that I can interrupt the dog's play, get them in and get the 'welcome home' gate open at the end of the drive.

Will do - middle of next week for that. I should have it by Wednesday (I am not in a hurry for it as my D2 is fine and all their drivers are busy coping with getting the NEW vehicles out). Someone will come to collect me then take me the 40 miles to the local Dealer's as I can't drive 2 vehicles at once. I will then have a few days to get to know it as we are off to France on the 11th. My two young 'hairies' will be firmly in the dog house at the rear.:)

Happy days and imagine ur looking forward to the new disco whilst sad to see the other one go

Bet u enjoyed the comparison between the different models , what year , engine , colour did u get plse

Mine are to much of pre Madonna’s to go in the boot, lol, but are in full harness to protect them and me on braking

Have been looking round at telescopic , dog ramps , so can leave the middle seat back down , allowing them to get out via the boot

Its the 3.0 Sdv6 Hse Auto. in Baltic Blue. Its done 55,000 miles and is coming with a 1 year LR warranty. I liked the way it drives - after18 years of air suspension etc. enjoyment in my beloved D2 it was a hard decision to make. I tried a 3 yr. old Freelander Metropolis, in excellent condition, and a Discovery Sport but they just didn't come close to comparing with the D2.
About the ramp - A dog-walking companion recently got one of those from the local CAT charity shop! She needs it 'cos her 6 yr. old Lurcher has developed nerve damage in the spine and has last a lot of fine control in the front legs and she (and he) finds it brilliant, even if a bit bulky to carry around.

Very nice , look forward to piccies plse

Am going to try and work something out to fix a ramp sideways on the tailgate , so don’t have to worry about if people park to close to me, as I won’t be able to use the ramp then

Using some sliders , can’t fix it on the tailgate as it has the wire support wires on the side

Will give me a project to do, lol
