just got in mi disco 1 1997 and turned on ignition...
almighty buzzin noise from passanger footwell, before even starting the engine...:violent: sounds just like this...
thought maybe heater fan... not on, but disconnected wiring just in case... noise carried on...

tried a search but is it a buzz or a rattle? i dunno.. nothing under search for either..

any ideas please....
gotta trailer on back i gotta get back to mi dads tonite...

update.... got it to stop by repeatedly pressing the air recirculation switch on and off??? wtf!!!!
if i put the switch to on position it starts up again!!!

what the hells goin on?????

aint got no a/c.. as far as i kno?
no pump on side of engine anyway..
seems may be a short in the switch?
is it some sort of electrically operated valve that redirects air flow from outside to recirculated internal air?
would have a look at haynes manual but had a beer and a bit tired now....

check the relays under there as if there is a fault with something that is operated by a relay they often buzz as they switch on/off rapidly you should be able to feel it when its happening

neded to get the glove box out and look at the relay for the air recirculation... apparently its attached to the top of the blower fan.. bit too dark... have to wait til saturday now...
at least i kno how to stop it when it starts... just gotta fiddle with the switch by the blower controls...

well took everythin out of glovebox.. floipped it down to get behind it and.......................................................................................

could i make it buzz, rattle or anythin? nope... perfect no noise or anythin....

think r lass had bin rootin in glove box and shoved somethin in so far it had cought in the electric motor that operates the air recirculation thing....

oh well, hopefully cheap fix...
