Hello all,
Enjoying the new format? No? Well im sure that we'll all get use to it over time....
Ive owned for the past 3 years a "R" plate 300tdi which has had everything done to it, from welding to bushes, to brakes and having the roof sealed. The old disco has even had duel batteries, lights and even a cb fitted, but the power out of the engine has started to dwindle and as such ive bought myself a RR p38 Westminster as a weekend toy due to the arrival of more small people in the house ........... whats the point of the tale above I hear you cry? Well as I work away during the week im only driving the rr of a weekend with the disco parked up so im at odds at wwhat I should do..... should I ..
A. Keep the disco parked up, take it to bits and rust proof and fix for future use
B. Sell the disco to a like minded soul on here
C. Burn the disco in a Viking style way
D. Other mad idea that I havent thought of

Thanks for reading the nonsense above, all suggestions (even silly ones) are most welcome

if it is a sound vehicle and you have had a lot done to it and no immediate need to liquidise it, I would lay it up.

I had a corking 110 years ago had a full cage and allsorts put on it, regretted selling it ever since, if I had rustproofed it and kept it it would have been an ideal truck to pass on to the kids as a starter car.

If your serious about using it again. Keep it. If your unsure, sell it to someone who will get use from it before it falls to bits on your path and you end up scrapping the thing when you cannot be bothered to fix it!

Thanks for the responses, if I was to lay the disco up what would be the best way to protect it?? Would a car cover be ok?

You'll find Land Rovers a bit too soggy and damp to burn properly.

As for laying it up, all you will find once you come back to it is a myriad of faults and decay if it's kept outside.

But on the plus side, it would give me something to do once I'd uncovered it....... I should sell but I would miss it as it does come in handy for going the skip or ikea
