Never thought about it filling with water. Never go out in my landy dressed smart so not worried about getting dirty if I need it. Would love to find out whose it is to get some more details.

Can anyone tell me how the spare wheel is mounted to the roof on the landy in this pic?? Is this a special roof you can buy or has it been done by the owner?? Really hate my spare on the back door and would love to get it up on the roof out of the way.

Cheers

Adam

Reminds me of when we used to sink electric aerials into the bodywork of our cut price custom car looky likies. I think its called "frenching". We used to connect tubing to take away the rain water. The wheel in the roof looks great but seems im practable. Foot dents and scratches on the roof and then having to lift what looks like a heavey wheel over your head. Ill leave mine on the door. How about sinking it into the nearside rear side panel.

Side panel would look good.

I think it looks ace but has no real purpose. You'd have to run a tube from it inside then through the wheel arch to keep water out. I wouldn't want all that weight up heigh off road to be honest. Why don't you sink it into the back door? Now that WOULD look tops.

If you are going to recess it into the available load area , why not save a lot of work and open door and put inside ?

:blabla: Point taken. Just looking for options at the mo, cos I hate it on the back door and cos I am a short ass if I stick it on the bonnet I will not be able to see over it!!
