i fitted lift spacers and rear shock droppers
an it's great, no diff probs (yet) an will go any where,
and it only cost -: 85 quid spacers
25 quid exteded brake hoses
25 quid shock drops
loads of hours an scared knuckles to fit it all

im in the same boat at the min matem, got a 200tdi wanting a 2inch lift for off roading but also need heavy duty to be able to tow on the odd occasion. if required.
wanting to go shocks and springs but dnt know whos are the best for my requirments.

If you have the money then spend it on Old Man Emu springs and shocks. You will only need to spend the cash once.

I've had a 2 inch lift using OME on my Discovery for over 5 years now. Been laning, trialling and challenge events with it and no problems at all.

Two things, OME don't actually do a lift kit as such you have to get springs of the right poundage to achieve the lift that you want and the whole lot will set you back about £500.

do you just get shocks and springs for that?

i fitted a 2" cheapie lift kit and to be honest I would have been better off getting a better set of tyres.

You could try Terrafirma. No complains and a good price. Do a search.

Their medium springs were outstanding on a fully loaded 90 around Morocco, nicely dampened.

Have a ride in DVs Disco - his yellow springs give a hard ride.
I'd go for blue springs, nicer ride, bit more compliant and less tendency to lift a wheel under articulation - Drewster suffers that problem with his and he is on yellow springs.
Be careful and dont lift too much as other parts may work harder and fail as a result - UJs, bushes etc.
From my experience of Procomp shocks, they were fine on the front but I replaced the rears because they had a tendency to snap. I used Britpart on the rear afterwards and they performed well.
Go for a decent set of oversize tyres, most people get stuck because the diffs ground out in the ruts.

Do you know what the rating of your yellows was Boomer?

I gotta get HD 2" lifted rears on mine before june. I want it to be fairly firm but not so much so that i lose my articulation

The Britpart ones for a 110 are 420lb and I rekon that'll be too hard.
