Hi,

I have registered to ask a very specific question about Land Rovers. I am currently illustrating a book my father and some of his friends wrote in the early 60s about a trip they made into the middle east by Land Rover. They bought the Land Rover in England and then took it on the ferry then overland and eventually went through Turkey, Iran & Afghanistan. The book didn't find a publisher so sat in a filing cabinet until resurrected by my mother, after my father had died, as a tribute to him.

So my question is exactly which Land Rover would they have used? I have attached the only 2 photos I have. And no this wasn't a trip into the middle east by the black and white minstrels. Internet being the internet I thought it best to blank bits out.

Once I have this information I can gather photos from t'internet for use as reference for my illustrations. So your help would be greatly appreciated! If someone can identify the exact name of the land rover then that will help me narrow down the search.

Thanks!

HA ha ha. You beat me to it! After I posted that I thought someone is bound to make a joke about the blacked out figures so I edited the post. Very funny.

well that ones a series one but which one some one else will know

OK. Google imaged that and that looks close enough as the illustrations are to give a general impression of the vehicle.

Thanks! Now anyone know where I can have a DNA test done? Looking at those photos I'm beginning to wonder if MJ could have been my father.
