Ah yes, its always good to have extra fuel at hand.
Even if it does look like a stutter...
I'd take a picture of my spares corner, but'd be ashamed to show all the parts I'm meaning to fix on but haven't got round to..
Light guards... New grille...
Yep I fell for it all when I first got the bugger, though the mud uk defender dash I did install was a bloody brilliant bit of kit.

That cupboard used tae be full of spares at one point, but bin busy using thum up. Besides, where else can a keep me liquids cool withoot the missuss findin' thum:D
Bin lookin' tae get one of them mud dashes for a while, ah'll get round tae it one day:D

I recommend them 100%, the only difficult thing was converting the OEM electrickery to anything that could vaguely represent a connection for my Alpine Head unit. Got a big fat space in the middle waiting to be filled...
Cb radio? I don't think I need any dials, a rev counter would only make me feel for my poor wallet.
At one point I thought "switches for possible electric windows fitting?" But I'm very probably better off without.
A mate suggested I frame a picture of myself for it just for the arrogance humour.
Any suggestions?

When funds allow ah'll splash out and get one. Ah know what ye mean about fittin' a radio!!!! Ah did a fred awhile back about it, got there in the end though;) :D
Suppose ye could always stick a tray/box thing in it tae throw yer odds and ends in:D

That's what the cubby box is for. Incidently, I'm wondering how to attach it, its currently sitting on a piece of carpet with a metal plate underneath it where the middle front seat was. It has two wooden rungs on the bottom and I don't know the best way to fit it so it won't be a complete shambles. Anyone else installed a box on an old defender want to depart with some tips? closest I could think of was drilling through the metal and screwing in the wood but it sounds a bit of a clip bodge.

ah would've said... if yer cubbybox doesnt reach the existing seat holes, try fixin' it tae sum flat bar that will reach. Thought they were pre drilled to fit anyways?

OR... take out the cover that's over the gearbox and replace it with a bigger piece of plate that reaches the seat fixin' holes and then bolt the cubby box tae that. Don't forget sum draught excluder stuff around the big hole;) :D

i just took that cover off, bolted the box to it then refitted - you could even do that without taking the cover plate off but you'd have to get underneath to do up the bolts

there's always velcro if he dunt want to get his hands dirty

Never thought of that, but then ah've not got one;) :D

I like Sean's idea, though I don't know how I can attach the bolts to the wood. Its just two slats running down, hency why I thought screws would be the best option. It'd help if I had the thing here to look at it, but I don't think it would easily reach any seat holes.
Other thoughts I had were glue to metal, or attach to carpet, and attach carpet securely.

too complex, he's not finish his "automative engineering degree" yet

sticky back plastic ?
He's got a point, luckily there's a few people nearby who I can gsi to remove them for me to stop me having to go near any tools.

I've got a pretty good idea of how to do it now, cheers guys, all I have to do now is wait for my 3rd to come through in two years time.

better start learning the lingo fer the sorta job you have to look forwards to then

"would you like fries to go with yer burger sir"

whoah, nonono, don't get me for that at all, the moment I don't want to do what I do is the moment I'll stop doing it, I love my job and career path to bits, there's nothing wrong with a personal view on how the politics affect these things, it doesn't by any way mean that we shouldn't be doing what we are doing nor that we are effecting a whole lot of good by doing so.
I really don't want to talk about this much here, I seem to get into this debate all the time and its starting to get on my nerves, its the idea that if you're in the army you have to base your own foreign policy exactly on your country's.

Edited to calm myself down a bit and not meaning to get on a rant, I'm effectively assuming my degree will even have any kind of job I could be looking forward to,
