Disco 2 What is it?

I had a brake light bulb go and removed the near side rear light cluster to replace it.

Inside the hole, tucked to the left where the cluster sits, is a cylinder with a black cap (similar to a spray paint can lid) The lid lifts off and there looks to be a filter inside.

Can anyone tell me what this is please?

Air suspension filter.

Thank you very much.

If I give the truck a 2" lift I will be swapping the back to springs, so this little gadget will no longer be needed.
