What is going on with defender prices?

Hello again, first post in quite a while.
Is it just me, or is it the wrong time of year,or have they massivley increased in popularity?
Sold my last 110 2 years ago, a lovely k reg 200tdi with 108k, solid, clean tidy, lovely, for £2900. Never should have sold it but need a bigger van for a while.
So now, armed with a similar budget 2 years later all i can find is older, mostly rotten, starship miles trucks... £3k doesnt seem to buy anything anymore.
anyone any ideas where else to look online or know of any decent 110's around?

wrong time of year and your £2900 that you had 2 years ago is now worth more like £1500

Its not like they are worth anymore money its just that money is worthless

Been looking constantly for last 5-6 weeks and nothing, well nothing to part me from my cash at least.
Im going to have to start looking at generic 4x4 pickups if i cant find anything soon

Try 5-6 years, a Brilliant Spec'd Defender just seem to be out of my price range all of the time.. I'm not looking at a Discovery but I would still love a defender.. but a Disco would suit me more for motorway miles.

I've noticed that people seem to hang on to their defenders, and that the £3k mark tends to buy you very little .. still surely better than a 'car' though!
