What have you done to your Landie today.

Got mine back from being resprayed recently. I took the raised air intake off for the respray and haven't put it back on yet and I don't think I'm going to. I have seen an increase in MPG. Where as before pottering around the French countryside I was struggling to get 10 Kilometers per liter, I am now getting an easy 11+ kilometers per liter

Drove to Nottingham and back again. I must say the A453 between the motorway and the city is a lot better now the roadworks have finished.

Re-wired the rear electrics, just awaiting a a few bits to finish/neaten it up and then to diagnose the brand spanking new issue with the RH indicators..

Took out the factory fitted sat nav radio and replaced it with a more practical and flashier one

Just got up and running again after nearly nine weeks off the road, and off the off road; off any kind of surface other than blocks... I would feel relieved if I believed this was everything resolved for a while!? But after several landy waves and a few hearty encouragements from fellow landy owners, I'm feeling a little happier

Finally got the electric windows working and wiring all neat

Finally got my rear fog light working. Getting closer to being able to drive it again...

Removed a curved, toothed slice of metal from the bottom of the driver's door...and ordered a new regulator....

Parked up 'Tank' ready to be stripped for painting with a roller!!

I've just been outside having a look at mine in preparation for the next MOT which will need to be in a couple of weeks or so. I've has the wheels off and wobbled all the bearings, bushes and potentially loose items, checked the condition of the brakes and pipework, and tightened the handbrake. I've been noticing a little vibration around 40 or 50 mph and I think the culprit may be the rear propshaft which seems to be getting a little free and easy. Fortunately I have a spare. It's the old one that I put new bearings on. So I have swapped that on and will go for a drive shortly to see if it has made a difference. I tightened up the driver's side front shock absorber because the top bush was getting loose. The bushes are OK, they just needed squeezing a little tighter. One of the earth straps to the gearbox was loose so I put a nylock nut on it to keep it in place. The Land Rover seem to have aged quite well over the last 12 months. One or two bits of surface rust showing through the Dinitrol but I'll sort that out later in the summer when I have the compressor out.

Sorted!

Fabsealed the full tilt whilst it was laid on the lawn.

Now have a tilt shaped area of dead / dying grass.

New offside swivel bearings and seal kit. That was fun.

Put chequered plate on front wings and bonnet today.

Finally got the steering wheel off.

the original bolt holes ( M6) were stripped, and no amount of fighting , pounding, yanking or swearing was getting it off.

Had to drill and tap out to an M8 bolt and make a puller up to fit.

Now to look at what new steering wheels which are the same diameter are available. The old one is getting a little ropey.
