What have you done to your Landie today.

Replaced rear hub and reset 3 amigos

I picked up a second hand set of 235/85 BFG AT's with a good amount of tread for £150, all I have to do now is fit them to my spare set of wheels.

I could be fun as I've brought a couple of tyre leavers but have no idea how to use them

pretty much the same as a push bike tyre just that bit tougher due to the size difference. use a bit of washing up liquid on the bead of the tyre to help it on just not too much as it makes a mess and it'll end up like a greased pig

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go.

I have been told to drive the disco over the old tyre's to break the bead, is this right ?

Yeah that sometimes works

use a length of 4x2 or similar so it makes a ramp that will push down on the bead when you use your disco. it can take a few tries but it does work.

I have heard of a hi lift jack and a landy being used aswell but at the time I only had the 4x2 so I don't know if a hi lift works but can see how it would

Finished fitting the Daytime Running Lamps and Spot Lights.

DRLs worked first time by intercepting the Fog Light wires and relay. The only new wires were for the circuit that turns off the DRLs when the other lights are on. Very neat and tidy with no long cable runs.

Fitted my new light pod on the bonnet, just need to wire it up now but have to go to work - will have to wait until my days off. Looms already made tho!

Washed it.....

not just today, but all week.... wire brushing, shot blasting, tannate coating and Hammeriting as much of my new 2" lift bits that I can strip to component parts.

15 ltrs of rape seed oil in the tank along with a tenners worth of diesel
oil and air filters changed, filled up with 20 /50
new radiator (i think I've knacked up the bottom oil line.. meh)
DLR's wired up so they go off when the lights are switched on
fixed the crap wiring and relay on the spot lights
replaced the kaput LEDs on the speedo with new LEDs
fixed the fog lights
replaced the dead bulbs on the number plate light
new steering damper to replace the utterly mangled one
One shot grease in the hubs

Then spend over an hour unsuccessfully trying to hose off all the oil what I split on the driveway

fitted my leather smart car seat to the 110 omg so much better
replaced the door pulls with the cloth strap ones for more knee room
installed a big net over the bonnet for strapping road kill too (its pheasant season!)
installed a momo replica steering wheel for a bit more knee room again

and almost binned it going down the lane... it doesnt handle amazing at the minute

Started the manufacture of my custom mud flaps, cut some rubber sheeting to size and now finding a way to paint them white (hell yeah) should have the brackets welded up by the end of today, will post a piccy when done!

Spent much too long getting the nuts off very old drop links. Found out where my low speed knock was coming from. The anti-roll bar has shifted to one side and is hitting the strut. That's a job for another day

Not the landy but re-painted the front of my garage today with some ronseal wood treatment i had left over in the garage after moding the front of the garage the other week

It read so easy in the Haynes manual,
but changed my badly worn steering swivels & shaft today..
tried it round the block and my 3 inches of free play has gone..


but so did my steering wheel position slightly....must be getting old or tired and not loving all that bending over a wing to get to it all....

might investigate the steering wheel splines ??
easy fix if so................another day now though..
but I know it`ll pi$$ me off till I re set the position of it to be central..

Fitted new straight through mid section, and new rear section of the eggsauce and checked it over for M.O.T., so fingers crossed they don't find any thing when it goes in:dizzy::dizzy:

took it for a bit of light greenlaning saturday with my mate and kids found a couple of really muddy puddles for effect so they were all happy. then it's getting a dose of nvo for the rest of my b+e course in boston so any of you locals see a muddy blue 200tdi D1 with a 300 front, light bar a cb whip give me a flash

be careful what you wish for

Sorted some more niggly jobs that've been put off and off...

Pulled the stereo out and sorted the blown fuse on the back, bugger still didnae work, so, into main fusebox and pulled every 10 amper, finally found it - now have stereo, clock and courtesy lights again!!

Put the pretty bits of me tranny tunnel back as I fink me gearbox/transfer box is OK now after being fettled. Only been pretty bitless for about 6 months, just in case like!!

As a treat, got round to replacing the old manky leatherette gaiters wiv nice Eyetaliun leather jobs - not a bad job, used up the last of me ultra cheap super glue.

Refitted all the last bits from doing the headlining the other day.

Quite satisfying couple of hours light work - Drover is now a much more pleasant place to sit.
