Worked out the fuel consumption from last night 250 miles motorway blat.

A steady 65 mph all the way returned 19.5 mpg.

Kinda scarey that I'm quite pleased with that  Badly need an overdrive

Don't forget though if yours is a 90 there is always a gallon left in the tank even if you ran it out of fuel so really you are running on 11 gallons instead of 12 gallons which works out at 250 miles = just under 23 mpg ;):D

As GD says a 2 1/4 petrol and measured by topping the tank before and after.....might get 23 with an overdrive

Made a new boot space divider :)

Features - cargo net, removable pin hinges for quick release, spring bolt to hold in position/collapse etc

I've fitted a new window winder mechanism to the driver's side door. the old one was worn and would allow the window glass to be pushed down easily. Not very secure. As I was taking the window winder handle off the spring clip gave a twang, shot past me over the fence into the park, and was never seen again. I drilled a hole and put a self tapping screw in instead. The older design with the handle secured by a screw was much better anyway. I've also finished swapping my hinge screws for stainless ones while the door cards were off.

Transformed the metal tube with a brown lump on each end which were spewing metal shards that I found dangling under my 90 back into a rear propshaft

took the tank out my D1 to repair the chassis then took the nearside rear shock mount off to repair the hole under it on the side of the chassis and under it so it's now all cut out and welded and painted ready to be put back together tomorrow

used my disco to go and collect 4 - 8foot long - 4inches x 4 inches fence posts.
middle double seat folded forewards, front passenger seat tilted back, it swallowed the posts easily, (could have got 9 foot posts in)even over the 3 bags of cement on the back floor - made loading the posts easier...
as I drove home, I asked myself, how could I ever part with my old disco.....

after 6 years of ownership, all my family borrow it for fetching or delivering, or towing or getting you there......its an old faithful friend now..

Just explored what I thought was an oil leak on the road outside. It seems to be excess Dinitrol coming out of the bulkhead thank goodness. Unless the engine or transmission oil has found an new escape route into the box sections, that is.

put my D1 back together now the rear section of the chassis is rust proofed just need to clean and paint the rest of it hopefully without finding any more holes. whats the best thing to fill the chassis with to neutralise rust in the chassis. I've heard about old engine oil but don't want something that thin that's going to leak out everywhere but obviously need something thin enough to coat all the inside of the chassis possible
