had back floor sponge up on girlfriends D1 200 type V8 and painted it with engine oil to scare the rust goblins away , attempted to fit a transit electric fan (failed,lack of space) , buggered around with wiring

The 98 300tdi auto Disco has decided to be difficult to start on these now chilly mornings. Put a new set of glow plugs at the weekend, made no difference at all. Read many, many threads about potential cause and fixes for this prob. Brain overload. Put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank, gotta start somewhere I suppose..

Drove the 200tdi Disco to work, on thw way home admired the excellence of a fully function & illuminated instrument cluster. #tips_hat_to landowner

fitted a replacement vacuum pump after the one on my freshly fitted 300tdi gave up and also fitted van sides and a smooth roof to my 90!

Found the cause of the bouncey ride since the left rear spring dislocated. Best order a new one. And plumbed in the boost gauge, 11 psi.

Replaced my glow plugs, first three went fine, last one snapped on me Ive bypassed it for now, anyone know of a good way to get them out without taking the dam head off?

Also, nipping down to the garage later so a friend can slap some gasket sealant on my nearside rear hub as its leaking after a wheel bearing change

Nothing yet.......suppose I'd best go make a start on the bellhousing and output shaft adaptor when it stops raining

Couple piccys for you, it was the end plug so was difficult to get a good snap.

Hopefully you can sort of see though,

Hmmm.. if its got a hole In it you can get scewnlike objects that screw in and as it get tighter screwa it out.
That combined with heat shod do it

If its a steel piece at the top you could build up a series of welds until you have enough to get a good sized extractor on there or keep welding a stalk, put a nut round it then weld the stalk to the nut and use a 6pt socket

screwing sounds good, any particular type? I have some turbo gold wood screws?

As for the welding option, I have heard of this before, but I don't have a welder available to me so would be difficult :/

the welding method works very well!

ahh I see! Okay, I shall order some and give them a go as a first cheep option, then I could try the welder if I can find one I guess, if I haven't destroyed the tip in the mean time :/

Then I suppose my last option is the head off lots of heat and those bits should hopefully do it though.

what??.the sunroof on the ship leaks,not a prob in the carribean is it.was not when i was there.yeh maaan.

lost both main beams on headlights..
but sit looking at my noo ceramic plugs and heat shrink wiring kit and thinking,
I must go out in the cold and rewire the headlights.....


one day... naughty I know, but the cold hurts me hips/knees & ankle joints now
