spent most of the morning till after lunch time on just changing the nearside front shock - bitch of a thing.
my metal spike attack through the main shocker body ripped out once !!
so resharpend, I attacked it much lower- going through the inner chamber of the shocker, which resulted in lots of hydrulic oil flooding the bastid nut that I undone a flat at a time, with a metal tube on my metal spike, and a combination spanner held by a deepseries 13mm socket I used for the turret nuts, plus a 12inch extension bar, squeaking the nut undone - bastid thing... bet they had been on for many years--- the good news is both new front shocks back on....
at times it felt like I was doing an upper body work out.....both arms ached the same amount..
still got to pop out and buy another shultz can from under the front arches and chassis in that areas...
god I hope the rear shocks are easier to change ?
they look it though..(doing them another day) - (nuther pension pay day )

Started fitting new forward facing Puma/TDCI rear seats to the modified rear tub. Went better than expected, but as always had a few niggles to iron out😃

Took Handbrake drum off and shoes out, cleaned it all up, I now have a handbrake what works .. It'll maybe need new shoes in .. a few years maybe ..
What possesses people to design brake fixings like those little toggles and collets over springs? The very devil himself couldn't put them back first go ...

Well technically I haven't done anything. ...but deasy called in to see how I was getting on post op...and decided to sort my dodgy non closing drivers door out. So lock mechanism courtesy of hamsterberg and fitting courtesy of deasy and I now have a door that closes and doesn't fling itself open at every roundabout

Made all me doors more water and sound proof! Stuck some 3mm closed cell foam all across the seams. Much more sound proof, less vibration. Hopefully more water tight aswell!

just for anyone wanting to know what sealant is amazing is this stuff called CT-1, used by the trades, and have used it on the boat for a while, had a leaking roof on the 90 so got a tube of white CT-1 and all leaks stopped etc.. it even drys in the wet!!

went to move my disco off ramps & blocks its stood on fer ages now,
I done some serious jet washing prior to letting it dry well then shutzing it plus new shocks then,
it would`nt move - but chucked one ramp out from the front wheels and one block from the rear wheels...
got back under it with handbrake off (re blocked the wheels)
and club hammered the brake drum/hand brake till it freed off..
all sorted, and been round the block a few times with gently putting the handbrake on to clear itself out..
but did notice the handbrake lever dont like going all the way down - suspect the cable has dried out/rusted ?? tomorrow ? going to lift gaiter to give the cable some WD40 to see if its any better, some oilcan engine oil if its sorted it..
