Was fairly crowded to be fair. I should've seen the signs yesterday but I didn't So pretty much my fault.

I did start off by apologising for the inconvenience but she refused to talk to me other than say 'no' so I kinda ran out of options pretty fast

Fitted a new 'sports' exhaust from Paddocks (it's britpart) to my 300tdi Disco; straight through mid-section, normal tail section.

Thought the job would be a bit grim in the driveway but it wasn't as bad as expected. Junior hacksaw goes through old rubber exhaust hangers like a knife through butter. 13mm nuts on the mid to front pipe join put up a fight but gave in eventually - they'd had lots of plus gas in advance. Bending the metal tabs down on the brackets and smearing them with vaseline makes fitting the new rubber hangers much easier. Had to jack up the rear nearside body a few inches to wriggle the old pipe out and the new one in, but the wheels stayed on the ground. All told not too bad a job. When I'd got it out I found a huge long hole in the old pipe at the top of the arch where it goes over the rear axle - hadn't known about that one and it would have been an MOT fail for sure.

Exhaust note has changed a bit but not much, about to go for a test drive now. MOT next week so will have a chat with the tester and depending on the outcome of that maybe get shot of the front pipe with it's 'cat' and put in a straight through pipe there too.

Quick test drive and then time for a bottle of wine.

yu int got a CAT Yu has a Particulate filter and they int tested by MOT tester. and are not required. So long as ya int too noisy and don't leak or blow anywhere it & is securely mounted. It's a Pass..

Installed a feed for the rear lights, via Aux fusebox and a switched relay. Just gotta get a couple of sleeved grommets and drill 2 holes in rear body above the door.

Also soldered thicker cable to a fag lighter socket, to be mounted to rear bulkhead Run direct from Aux Battery, and used mainly to run a small Invertor.

I know, that's why I said 'cat'. But, it seems that different MOT stations sing from different hymn sheets on this, so will check with my local one next week.

I bought some jump leads.

Bled out power steering and chuffed it works

I bought a new lead lamp (work lamp) and the posh halogen bulb popped when I put it down hard on the floor

Going to get a low power bulb that lasts forever no matter how hard you drop it
