Finished fitting side steps to my Disco 2, the drivers side was left for 2 weeks whilst sorting out my EGR sheared bolt issue. I also had well rusted screws in the old factory fitted front mudflap which refused to undo despite many applications of WD40. Upon reading recommendations on here I ordered a can of Plusgas. All I can say is wow, quick squirt either side, left for 2 mins and both screws came straight out, amazing stuff this Plusgas.

Ordered a Karcher under chassis cleaner to clean up the underside of the Disco so I can start considering what to do about some of the surface rust on the rear chassis.

Pictures Please.

Painted some more of the 110 tonight. got bulkhead, and windscreen surround done.

Got an early MOT booked for this am, and the bugger passed!

Got an advisory for the rear donut, as expected, and had to tighten a wheel bearing! Chuffed to bits, to say it's been stood for 8 weeks .. ;)

its on the side of box ,diff lock is vac operated ,high gears can be easily swapped for higher ratio

Excellent :) cheers James

Tempted to rebuild it, find a roverdrive unit and swap the R380 over just for having a nice locking diff like that and its also stronger IIRC from what you told me a while back?

Although I highly doubt the R380 will break but it would also allow me to use a slightly longer prop shaft on the rear from the looks of things

Forgot to add to my post:

Fixed cleaned and refitted the ashtray/cointray/drinks holder. Both rear springs had broken the plastic retainers so strapped the springs in place and now all works perfectly.

Also today passed 5 or 6 guys trying to push a transit van off muddy grass with it's wheels spinning and going no where. Stopped and offered a tow, dragged it out with no trouble at all.

Loads of wee small jobs like rear door seal retainer, removed rear seats lock mechanism and cleaned them up. Removed the 15 years worth of cack from the back end and painted some bits. Removed loads of corroded rivets and fited new ones.....more the same the morrow!:D

managed to spend the day sorting a few bits on both landy's.
soldered a new wire in the door opening for the lecy windows (been playing up for about a week now) . while i had the door card off i undid the top hinge on the door so i could tighten the screws on the door mirror (been loose for couple of years now .
then got started on the new winch bumper mod ,managed that quite quickly

think i just saved it in time think if it had been used in that condition would have gone tits up pretty quick

Just took it for its MOT.....bastid thing failed on a track rod end..wouldn't mind but it's the only thing I'd not checked for some unknown reason.normally I check everything over:mad:
One advisory bush worn slightly on rear shock absorber

Just back fromschool where half the staff had to push me out of the carpark :p

Ran a new exciter wire from solinoid to a dash switch and IT STARTS!!
