Drained all the fluids in axles, transfer box and gear box.
Ewwwwww the front axle was like porridge! So I've just thrown some engine oil in that till Friday when that will be dropped and replaced with 90s.
 
Fixed it. Brake disc had come loose from the hub somehow, stripped it down (getting quicker at that now lol) tightened it back up fully and then some, all sorted for now.
Got some loctite to put on the bolts in the next couple days, but all back working ok.... for now!
 
Finished welding the inner and outer arch, both sills and rear body crossmember surprisingly the boot floor is not needing done there is no rust on it. Interiour back in Now to tacal the paint bubbling on the back door and rear quarter panial. Fit winch and winch bumper not bad for 5 days work.

Paul that's been there for as long as I can remember, going on 3-4 years, having worked round there I never knew it was a Byway!

Noticed a grating sound from the o/s rear wheel, so remove wheel to find that the outer brake pad has dropped in the caliper and is scraping on the brake disc's bell, checked n/s and that one is staring to rub as well :( Have ordered new pads in the hope it may cure the problem, otherwise I suspect it'll be new calipers again this weekend:mad: (current ones only 3 years old!!)
 
Time to think about some new tyres for my 110.
What is everyone running on these days?
I have Trac Edge AT on 235x85x16 I need something I can use on the road, snow and driving through the forest towing a trailer collecting sawn up tree trunks for fire wood plus a bit of Green Laining.
I had thought of Grabber AT as I had read they were good in the snow but looking at the tread I'm not convinced they would be any good in mud or wet grass. I nearly got stuck last weekend on wet grass towing a trailer.
Are mud tyres that much more noisier than AT tyres? I don't want to got the route of having two sets of tyres if I can avoid it.
 
im on goodyear wrangler MTRs and while they are quite an expensive tyre (i got them on offer at 90 a corner) they are great on wet grass, pay and play sites, on the road and in the snow. they also wear well. but not aswell as the trac edges your on as i dont think any tyre will wear that well anymore

oh, and i cant really tell the difference in road noise between them and agressive a/t's
