Hi all
Just had a bad day replacing the tailgate window mechanism and motor on my newly bought freelander1 td4 3dr, never new these things needed so much work, finished it all off, was mega chuffed only to find the darn window doesnt slot in properly at the top it seems to sit out side the top rubber. not happy, enyone had the same issue?????

Got round to fitting my new stainless flo-flex bump stops, along with stainless bolts :D what a suprising pain in the arse it was to do the front O/S one, everything was working against me :D
Also took off the front grill, grill surround and driving lights to see if the allard intercooler will fit, it won't fit and it isn't actually much bigger than my standard on when I studied it closely, so it's not worth getting it to fit when it probably wont improve anything much  Decided I'm going to get an allisport large intercooler in a few months instead :D

I broke it....... Changed the rear windscreen wiper. While reattaching the spare wheel to the carrier I sheeted on of th bolts off. Gutted oh we'll have gone to B&Q and have purchased an M8 replacement will drill out the old one and replace this weekend. Rear wheel is being held on by the other two bolts. So far no screams from cars behind squished by it falling off.

cleaned headlining finished painting chasis sides got the cb working clean swivel area ready to change the fluids thanks buster for a very useful thread

Installed a cosmetic mod, a protection mod and a tacky mod!

Cosmetic - Raised intake on N/S wing
Protection - Bearmach bumperettes
Tacky - 2 Tricolours for Paddy's day

The raised intake was a doddle. It came undrilled which suits me fine and makes for a far better fit.

The tricolours were push fit and very cheap and tacky!

The bumperettes were a bit of a **** to be honest as I used loose (stiff) nuts in the hollow section of the rear crossmember. I had to grind a spanner down to get to the nuts. They feel very strong though, look good and should help protect my rear lights. I also had to cut a small notch in the mudflap hangars but they are fairly discreet.
The checker plate on the bumperettes isn't finished very well as the edges are razor sharp and haven't been de-burred or chamfered which is a shame. I cant risk doing it myself as the coating on the bumpers might suffer.
If I get a quiet day in the summer I might drill the rivets off and chamfer them myself but there's so much else to do!

Removed the rear seats, loadspace liner, subwoofer and rear 6x9's so I could give the back a good clean, got everything clean and it decided to start ****ing down, so I gave up, will put all back tomorrow, and think of a better idea to mount the rear 6x9's :D
Also removed the chequer plate sill protectors and rear quarters to clean behind them, think I'm going to buy aluminium bolts to stop that damn corrosion
