finally got round to doing my tracking today, and got rid of a bit of steering slack. not a mm of play in all the track rod ends and ball joints, etc, but have noticed i got 2 fukd swivel seals and the 2 bolts holding the fan shield on are gone! thats me busy again next weekend, one day ill get to just drive the fooker!!

Finished off rear brake callipers - bled the system and all works as it should.

Replaced the alternator all good. This solved the speedo/tacho not working too.

Replaced the rear wiper motor.

Replaced number plate bulb.

Refitted rear seat.

Hopefully all ready for the MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed!

well today i had to weld my gearstick on my disco 93 coming home last night the thing come off in my hand dont know how it is fixed come off clean so got a good weld onto it now.. but had to drive home in second gear drivers going mad! all i needed was a flat cap 20mph :)

Just drove mine a bit today, reminded me i need to fix the cracked headlight and indicator, osr window has stopped working and the nsr door doesn't open unless you thump it.

Took front pulley and cambelt off me 300 tdi, also checked the clutch etc (engine and box on bench) found that it has had a rear crank oil seal and clutch recently but clutch fork is past its sell by date.

Going to get cambelt and some threadlock tomorrow so as I can put the flywheel back etc.
Should be ready to go in the 90 by Christmas..:)

Added a thermostat for that luxurious non-brass-monkey interior environment. (Why do previous owners fix duff thermostats by removing them?) However, I discovered that I have an incompatibility between temperature sender and gauge (1986 petrol 90 converted to 200tdi long before I got it). It's gone from struggling to get to 1/4 on the gauge, to sitting at 3/4 or nudging into the orange bit. Engine seems fine - top hose comfortably hand hot when gauge is high.

Fixed the dodgy wire on the horn by opening the bonnet and staring at it.

Mine has been like this since I dropped the tdi in - it's on my "to do" list, but once I had satisfied myself that "nearly in the orange" was normal, I stopped worrying. I use an infra-red thermometer to check the temperature in the radiator hoses.

Yeah, checking the hose reassured me. It sat at 3/4 when pootling about at 35-40, dropped to a smidge over half when idling for 5-10 minutes, and just got into the orange doing 45-50 on the motorway up a slight incline for a few miles.

I washed the salt off with a pressure washer and cleaned the mud off the chassis.
With more salt going on the roads this should see the end of a few Land Rovers.

Fitted my CB in today. Had to fab up a custom mount on the spare wheel carrier for the aerial mount.
Works! :D Just gotta tidy up the wiring and put some trim back together tomorrow.

remove the oil pressure sender as it was ****ing all over the place.

Doesn't look standard so off to specialist tomorrow to see if they can work out what the frak it's from.

Put all the interior back together. Then got ****ed off as the ice on the roof thawed and started dripping into the cab. Gonna have to take the roof carpet out and take a tube of tiger seal to all the holes!

Just drove mine today, but the other night ah took the injectors out off the white bus so's ah can get them tested and refurbed. Also bought a new fuel cut off switch today... a wee job fur the weekend;):D

Nowt..BUT....

heavy Duty springs arrived today and cambelt and heavy duty clutch fork :D

So roll on tomorrow..:)

I would like to thank Island 4x4 in Kent for getting my stuff to me less than 24hrs after I ordered and giving me free delivery and emailing and texting me the times for the one hour delivery window. Box of stuff arrived as promised within the delivery window and all present and correct. Fantastic.:D
