I might move it around in the garage later so make room for the 110, if im feeling esspecially motivated i might but swap my muds back for the all terrians on the back and take the front wheels off completely so i can look at sorting out my swivels.

Popped some black plastic caps on the nuts and bolts on the new roof rack ... how exciting

New seats installed. These should be a little more comfortable on long journeys and not give us pins and needles in our bums or make our thighs go numb.
Just the usual minor troubles involved in fitting them. Some of the captive nuts in the seatbox decided to liberate themselves, but fortunately I could reach underneath and get a mole wrench on them to hold them still. There's plenty of meat to stop them pulling through - they just go round and round with the bolt. New seatbelts too, but they're not so obvious. We'll have to try not to slam them in the doors so much so they don't get frayed.
Here's a nice new steering damper. I've shelled out for one of those fancy ones with the external return to centre spring.
First impressions are that it's easier to steer and maintain a straight line. I'd have thought it would be stiffer as you're fighting the spring as well as the resistance from the damper and the tyres. But it's a lot easier to swing it round to full lock quickly. The old one had been rattling around on its mounting bolt and had made a distinct wear step in it. Plus it said 'Britpart' on it - enough said.

Tried to replace brake fluid, none of my spanners fitted any of the bleed nipples! Weird 'cos I only did a rear caliper piston a few months ago and they worked OK then! SO then found front passenger inner wheel bearing fecked .. no spares except for seals, so all the bits in the shed now waiting for tomorrow.

Waldershelf and CraigyB - yes it is indeed a Terrafirma. I had a hunt around with Google and prices are mainly in the mid to late 50s, but prices seem to be changing all the time. I ordered mine a few weeks ago (but just recently got round to putting it on) and MM 4x4 seemed to be the best value, but they've gone up now! If you're thinking of putting one on, I'd say go for it, because mine's now easier to steer and easier to get straight again after you come out of a corner. Means you don't have to slam the anchors on and waste all that momentum that's taken you so long to build up!

Plus, if anyone's fitting one, don't forget to order a new nut and bolt for where it joins the bracket on the drag link. My old one was nearly worn through.

Blimey there are some dear things on their website. Over £1100 for a spare wheel carrier.
Discovery 3 & 4 Spare Wheel Mounting
I see Extreme 4x4 are offering carriers for 'extra large tyres' but they only seem to be for Defenders.
Extreme 4x4 Ltd REAR WHEEL CARRIERS But it might be worth asking them.

Replaced front passenger wheel bearing .. plastic flange cover had a scrape in it, all the way through, which I suspect had let water in! None of the seals were leaking, or the gasket, so that's the only explanation I could find .. could have been worse ..
