Changed rear springs as my springs were too light duty for the hardtop Roofrack and spre on the back so I have some taller stiffer springs now and all seems good!!

Fitted free wheeling hubs yesterday 2wd if "fun" in the wet!!

Fitted a front wheel bearing as it was on its way out, Test drove it a fair bit, and found my clock lights are not working and you try getting dash bulbs at 23.00hrs on a Sunday night!!!

job for tomorrow

Poly bushed my rear diff:) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341220278.890672.jpg

Both rear mounts were knackered, front not too bad strangely!

Yesterday I had a good day out with my disco 1 TDi,
but just parked it up in a field full of classics.

was booked in the Walton classic vehicle show with a scooter,
but son No.1 never had it finshed,
so, took my landie to the best carwash we have,
paid £7.49 for the full monty including chassis wash,
it even spray waxes and "polishes" the outsides,
then blow dries it.
came out looking good,
booked into show with a description & story sheet stuck on front & rear windows,
and had lots looking at my old diesel.
all original bodywork, a few bubbles round the lower rear wheel arches, but under period side decals, and a bit iffy on front edge of passenger door covered with a bit of black gloss....

It is my daily driver, its been a 7 seater airport run car,
carried car engines, scooter engines & complete scooters with rear seats folded,
its towed, cars, vans, camper vans and small lorries when needed,
as I have mobility problems I find it easier to drive than smaller cars,
you got 3 BIG peddles to use with ease.
It IS the best all round car I have ever owned...

I never won a prize yesterday,
but neither did the ****s in lambo`s & ferraris that left before the end as they never won either.

I is a happy man with my old landie.
(oh, now shiney Landie)

Finished cutting the wood, just need to sand it all then cover it. Also came indoors to find Debbie had started re-linning the roof head linning. Happy days :D

Continued the install of a ham radio transceiver, antenna is done and the unit is set up and working, just got to install radio unit, site the remote head properly (blu-tac for the test-run today) and get the electrickery sorted (running off a separate power pack at the mo for convenience).

Same set up as I Had in the 90. I found the thread strips out of the mount too easy. and used a nut either side to lock the bolt in place.

What transceiver you got ft7800??? if so also the same as mine. :)

nowt to mine but BB managed to snap an half shaft in his rear axle :( I told him doing donuts in maccy D's was a bad idea

Last pic is him doing an environmental cleanup operation :p

Nearly used the shovel to stove his head in, after he drove over me torch wot I lent him

Mic next to CB mic and invertor, behind cubby box.

I've not taken pics of the controller as it's still in place with blu-tac until I'm sure it is in the right place for operation. I have a radio exercise with 4x4 Response on Wednesday so I will no doubt find out then.

Took it for mot, it passed with advisories on 1 ball joint, trackrod ends and slight leak in pas system

Pretty good going that :D

Collected a new (s/h) rear diff for mine, need to swap out the cases 'cos I think mine's cracked! and a Central console which while almost as broken as mine, has a bit that isn't broken that is on mine!!

Well, armed with my tools, a manual n a chair to stand on was all set to take the heater box out uncoupled pipes, cables, undid bolts in footwell then started on the bolts under bonnett, after much swearing n spending ages on one bolt that just went round n bloody round decided to take other bolt out, well that came out dead easy so went back to other n decided its obviously threaded itself, so next plan of action was to maybe try nice it off the bracket via a downwards motion only to realise that the person who welded my bulkhead has gone over the top of the bracket with some metal plate!!! (it's also covered in what looks like underseal!) so now I'm bloody stumped what to do, so for time being its been put back together so I can drive it, what a waste of an afternoon!!! Lol n it's ruined my nails !!
