Finally got round to fitting new rocker gasket on my disco, as its started leaving quite a puddle from all the oil dripping down off the engine.
Found out why it was leaking too, as the old one was flat, brittle, and full of cracks. Looks like its been there for donkeys!
Also christened my new socket set doing it, and realised I should have got some ratchet spanners at the same time, as the bolt under the scuttle panel is a pita to get out with a standard spanner, as the socket ratchet wont fit under

Just need to figure out why its rattling its ass off up to about 4k revs whilst in neutral now

Made up a new gearbox cross member as it was shot and found another small hole in the chassis that im about to weld up , oh and waiting on my new prop to turn up .

Yesterday I bent the bumper back into position and hammered the wing back into shape before reattaching the front driver's side indicator after crunching that corner while reversing full-lock left with a telegraph pole lined up with my door pillar :(

A bit wrinkly, but not too bad considering I don't have a bag of sand or a panel beating hammer...

And all because I drove to my local Landy place to buy a new bolt and O ring for the cyclone breather which has fallen off the side of the engine. He didn't have any in stock, as it happens.

Oh, and the scrape on the corner of the bumper is where I had to drive slowly forwards into my own garage brick wall to bend the it back into position. It had been bent forwards by about 6-8 inches, and the Landy only stopped because I stepped on the brake! The telegraph pole was completely fine (as you would expect), and I suspect the Landy would have just bent the bumper to 45 degrees if I hadn't braked.

What a crappy afternoon... and seriously... I wasn't in a rush... I just didn't see the telegraph pole! It must have lined up with the door pillar... it must have.

Not all bad though... I took the opportunity to scrape, brush and clean the inner wing and coat it in Waxoyl :)

**** yeah i win

got my stuck drive member off tonight (it had a snapped bolt holding it on ! ) - nothing worked on it , even tried a bearing puller ! and welding a nut to the top of the bolt !

dremeled a section of the drive member round the bolt hammered it out , used a selection of drifts and punches to wedge it out from behind , eventually got enough room to get a gear puller in and pulled the ****er off. majik

got all the ujs changed and refitted , formulated a plan of attack for the doors and bulkhead next monday/tuesday/wednesday. oh and found i need to plate my outrigger.

on the plus side after 4 weeks stationary she started on the button and ran sweet for a change - in the cold she starts lumpy and smokey due to shagged rings i guess ..... its warm today :D

the world is good ! - might even go treat her to some new bolts look into a new/used tub :D
