Although did take it out for a little run to do my waste veg oil collections and took the kids out in it to get a "slush puppy" for my 7 yr old daughter as a treat for being really good in School easter production.

my headlight switch decided to pack up at 10pm when i finished work so spent 15 minutes wiggling the stalk until they came on ,must have looked like i was having a furious tug to any passers by, aside from occasionally flashing side lights and beeping the horn at people, looking like the lonliest dogger in town. Damned elastictrickery!

Engine back in in the Range Rover, found out the head gasket's gone.

Can anyone recommend a good head gasket set for a 3.9 EFI Range Rover?

Nothing done to it yet, but I just bought her a rear step and a snorkel.

Completely failed to remove any of the suspension bushes from the Series chassis. Feeling thoroughly demoralised at the moment. Will have another go later when my "mojo" has returned...

Cleaned the air filter again, in the hope that it has something to do with the "rushing air" noise I heard while under load late in my journey today...

bastid bloody landies

stripped back to P gasket again - water ****ing out worse than before - discovered a corrosion track from water gallery to bolt about 3mm wide and 1mm deep - no wonder it wont seal.

cleaned it all up and chemical metalled it - reassembly tomoz.

if this dont work its a new water pump to block housing .

Stripped the Series rear axle down ready for cleaning, painting, rebuilding, etc. All looks okay.... apart from some rot in the strengthener.

Put new steering pump on after old one fell apart. whoo hoo.

black hammerite on some of the interior at 7 this morning
took of some body panels checked them for rust and re-attached

found a whacking great hole in rear wheel arch hant noticed it as i dont get in back door

Re did P gasket - 3 hrs
Seems to be holding

found source of (one) oil leak - cyclone filter O-ring not sealing - oil peeing down side of block. Does anyone know where I can get a 15-18mm x 3mm Dia O ring from?

fitted one from 200tdi tempararily.

I on the other hand, thought about, then ignored ignored my p gasket for another day and went to Tesco instead

If yu can get yo motor up here, I will give yu a hand sometime.
