fixed my snorkel top. think I need to redesign it so it's not riveted drain pipe. might have to check out a hardware shop and put a proper elbow on it

Started stripping it for the rebuild :D

not used my disco for a few days so just took it for a 10 minuet ride round the estate and back..

I keep looking in the back, at the rear seat backs and floor behind looking for water ingress damp...
cant get used to it neither smelling of damp nor being damp..

might rip the front sunroof out and replace that with galvo sheet riveted on like the back one..
far too much sunlight comes in during the summer months anyway....

took mine into the garage and got the injector seals and harness done on my td5 90 today.
seems to be a HUGE difference in the power and response over 3000 revs. plus its now starting perfect.

got rescued by Topcat (cheers) as my tow hitch tried to break free with a 16ft car trailer and car on the back. all bolts are now renewed with A4 marine spec bolts so shouldn't have to have that happen again.

they do the job though. I haven't had any problems with them holding my cavs tow bar and they are free of corrosion so I can remove the towbar when I don't need it without the rust issues.

Got it back from the garage with welding done...and hub replaced...and a shiny new MOT Certificate! :cheer2:
Rebuilt the rear interior, and worked out how to rebuild the towbar assembly. Ordered a few new bolts, nuts and washers for same.
Reasonably happy day! :)

Yeah it was one of the last spure of the moment jobs to be done as son starts his new job this Monday coming and will have to use the 90 for a couple of months to get back and too to work as atm he can't afford to get his 07 plate astra back on the road till he gets paid from his new job ( oil in the engine loom and ECU ) so just hope the 90 does the job for him traveling to Birmingham, Chester, and Winsford for the first couple of months staying in hotels, everything paid by his new job like then hopefully he can sort his car out then we can both start getting the 90 ready for its new galv chassis and stuff :D

just got my landy back from the garage this week. originally took it in to get a set of wheel spacers, change the alloys to wolf wheels and get the obligatory extended arches.
while i was there i told the guy up at the garage that the landy wasn't quite itself with regards to power and handling, so he said he'd do a diagnostic.
turned out the fuel pump needed replaced and so did the steering damper, ecu relay and part of the silencer.
...at least the wolf wheels look nice -_-

Changed diff oils (so much for garage doing it 4 months ago, it was lile black tar) put new glow plugs in as it has been struggling to start, fitted diff guard on front, reSr wouldn't fit as p/o has put a stupendous amount of filler on it, got a axle I've refurbed so no big issue. Got transfer and gearbox oils to replace at a later date, can anyone confirm the torq nut size? Is it t45?

r380 gear box level plug is t55, though often worth replacing plug with 3292
