helped my mate with his spotlights on his roof rack so now he has 5 on his rack and 2 on the a bar on his winch bumper. damn are they bright

mine on the left his on the right. all the spots are at different angles so the pic shows them as different intensities.

Replaced my ridiculously small Momo steering wheel with the original - ahhhhh, all is now well, and in the process managed to get rid of the bone shaking rattle - on the flip side my main and full beam now do not work......whats that all about?? D-oh!!!
New switches...???

put the disco in for MOT it passed with advisery for sat nav & phone holder [ whats all that about ] one headlight played hard to get lord lucas strikes again .
all set for welland rally tommorow :D

So what did the tester say about your sat. nav./phone holder. Surely something like that is not in the MOT remit.

there is a specfic maximum diameter allowed in both the drivers direct view and and rest of the screen and a phone holder or satnav exceeds the limits so technically the tester can fail the car for having them attached to the screen. this also includes danglies from the rear view mirror. The tester can fail or remove them and carry on with the test regardless but it's usually a fear of getting a complaint of damage to these items that results in a fail. usually from new testers. more experienced testers will usually only fail the car for this if they have been caught bending this rule by vosa.
at the end of the day it's the testers license and probably living on the line if they get caught not testing to the letter by vosa

has anyone got a nsf twin input brake caliper for a 200tdi D1 mine decided to push one of the pistons out on an angle and so now it has caused binding on that corner and it randomly pulls to the right under braking :(

Started up the V8 finally, haven't heard it since November, it fired straight away on the same fuel. Quite a roar with only the downpipes fitted.

Finished fitting both benches, tidied out the back and got some rubber matting down on the floor. Jobs a fish

Mostly after a full on week replacing front suspension and carpeting etc, took a partial day off, only fitted new rear door card made by lovely wife.
Tomorrow its new rear brake shoes and remove rear prop for fitting new UJ's same as doing on front prop...prevention better than cure me thinks :)

Replaced the A-frame balljoint/bracket. Replaced all rear calipers/discs/pads. Replaced one rear drop link - couldn't get the other one off, it's completely seized. I'll probably have to cut the bolt and get a new one of those as well. Checked, cleaned and regreased rear wheel bearings while it was all apart for the brake work. Also took out the helper springs from the rear suspension. Better ride now.

More sanding again, and filling and more sanding, not far left now, just 3 panels thank god.

Then got bored and decided to clean the rear out instead of using it as a shed, then gave it a blast with the air line and let the dyson loose on it.

Then decided it was a good idea to sand and prime that.........

Also removed some carpet and plan to cut my own, I managed to get some nice carpet at the Flookburgh steam festival today to experiment with.

I hope its not as hot tomorrow, progress dramatically decreases in these temps

changed the leakoff pipes and checked the axle oils then went to collect various offroad parts for mine and my mates D1's so looks like a day of cleaning painting and modding of different parts for our trucks :D

Changed oil and filter (200tdi) first oil change I have done for 10 years. Only got 4 litres out, but got the full 7 litres in, dip stick looking good. Must have been low, certainly lot of oily bits underneath -probably do sump gasket next time I change the oil.
