Working out it the rain and dark  feck that I know were I'd rather be :D

I was considering making one from some 3x3 box and 3mm plate, two full sheets would work then just weld it all together, once done chop the legs down and double the 3mm up into a 6mm welding table but thats a maybe

try giving the nuts a good old whack with a club hammer

gave mine a bit of heat from a blow torch and then a whack with a hammer

Over the last few days, I've fitted a Disco Transfer box to my Defender 90, Relocated the turbo pipe to the wastegate. It's now from inlet manifold - wastegate actuator. Made a hell of a difference :D Will refit the boost gauge and see what it's currently running tomorrow and wind it up if it's under 1 bar, and also wind the fuel pump up more until it smokes too much :)

Cut all old bolts off with grinder and replaced with new. Started with the rear coz it's a bit easier and was going dark, then did front next day. Fitting new 6degree ones wasn't a problem getting the old ones off was a bloody nightmare.

Fitted a Disco transfer box to my Defender yesterday, chuffed to bits with it :D

Got one in mine now but disappointed with it, hardly get in fifth now with 31" tyres, sits nicely on the motorway at 50 in fourth, fifth is just too high especially with the roof rack on she needs a lot of throttle to make progress.

Going back to 1.4 box when I put the R380 in:)

Really? Very surprising  But that said, I've got rebuilt 200tdi (pistons/shell bearings/overhauled fuel pump/injectors/etc) with a straight through exhaust, big intercooler, K&N filter, tweaked fuel pump and tweaked turbo. Mine will pull 40-45mph up a small incline in 5th. Granted that it doesn't pull like before, but @ 60mph in 5th the revs have dropped about 300rpm, which should make a difference on long runs. Mine also has 265/75R16 Cooper Discoverer STT's, basically 31-32" IIRC.

Right,

I decided to have a go today at removing the front axle with the radius arms and wheels ON.

I removed prop bolts brake lines loosend shocks, springs and rear radius arm bolts used me engine lift to raise the disco, tied a rope around the front axle then using the range raover slowly pulled the axle away.......at last its off.

Lowered the engine lift and used axle stands to support the disco.
Now lets see if i can get the all the bolts off tomorrow.

It will pull at 50 but doesn't cruise well at that speed.

it will cruise on a light throttle at 60/65 no problem and is happy at that speed, can accelerate from 65 right up to as fast as I have taken it which was 85mph, could have gone more but felt a bit unstable in the wind. Just that I don't want to cruise at 65 because of the extra fuel she uses.

I like to cruise at 50 which is just about when I change up to 5th after joining the motorway and the revs are very low, the engine doesn't seem to be in it's stride if you know what I mean.

I too have a straight through exhaust except for a small Disco back box which is just a small muffler with no restrictions, there is plenty of power as she tows a laden car trailer at 60/ 65 if required.

I didn't have a problem with the small Disco alloys fitted because it was much lower geared and was happy at 50 mph.
