Picked the tax disc up off the floor (where it has resided since last Christmas) and stuck it on the windscreen.

Heheheh, yeah right .. 'that' old excuse ... ;)

My mate got stopped by trafpol one day .. "Where's your tax disc then sonny?"
"On the floor probably, I _do_ have one"
"Well it should be displayed sir"
"It is, here .."
He picked up about 10 of them and gave them to the officer, they were actually on the dashboard, not stuck to the screen or on the floor ...
"Right sir, are you taking the ****?"
"Not at all, it's there it's probably in this pile, please check for yourselves I'm blind"
"You're blind and driving sir?"
"Yes"
"How"
"Sat-Nav helps ...."
"Sir ....."
"Yes officer?"
"Do you have a driving licence?"
"Yes"
"How did you get one whilst blind?"
"Partial blindness, I can't see small writing, for which I wear reading glasses that I haven't got with me and colour-blind so I can't tell which tax-disc I need to find. Have a look at my doctors note and the drivers licence notes"
"OK, sir, have a nice day .... "

Can you imagine how the coppers would write that one up?

i got stopped by the police on very late night in OLDHAM.i stopped my car and looked in my rear view mirror and one of the cops was fast asleep in the front seat of the police car.the driver got out and walked in a unsteady way to my car.i wound the window down to speak to him, when he tried to speak to me his teeth fell out as he was as ****ed as ****ed could be.he tried to say is this car yours,i said yes it is.with that he staggered back to his police car and drove off.god knows how though.:eek:

Well it was last weekend really but I didn't get round to posting about it as I was too busy washing underseal off myself, but I have pretty much finished Hammeriting and Shultzerising the underneath of my disco.

See this fred for a couple of pictures

Replaced my nackered viscous coupling with a new (second hand) one and now it works! Thanks to SasBob for a quick delivery and great price .. ;)

Fitted some led amber warning lights and fitted a switch into cubby box, topped up the fluids and painted the drivers door after welding in the door bottom repairs last weekend(its great to close my door and not get a pile of rust on floor mats):)

Started sanding the body down ready for paint, found out that the original colour was dayglow yellow all over including the roof:confused:

yesterday she did almost 200 miles, cruising along at 65-70 with a load of kit. Spent under £50 in fuel which I'm quite pleased about, didn't miss a beat, ran perfectly, and runs nicely now :)

But I need to replace my belts, and move the side mounted exhaust back a bit because its hitting the body work and vibrating :) other then that she is good....

Nowt, letting it bathe in the rain!

Gonna check the rear wheel bearings and 'stuff' later, ready for Gatesgarth Pass and Lakes in two weeks .. :)

Replaced transfer box oil and engine oil and filter. Must have been a while since last change, stank of burnt oil and was black as anything.

Then treated her to a 9 minute car wash (at £3) to clean her up after the sandy adventure on the beach this morning. Surprisingly less water than I expected to find inside even after giving all the windows a good blast.
