Separated prop shaft from vcu after a lot of effort. Splines were seized solid. Ended up cutting a pry bar in half and using it as a large chisel, belting it with a sledgehammer. Tortuous. There has to be an easier way.

How’s your ‘ignore’ thread going? 😁

Installed Temu dashcam, not bad for 27 quid, got rear camera as well, not read the instructions yet either 😃

Cleaning the old lass out to go on holiday
I am sorry for no pictures but what a mess☹️ I suppose 3 dogs
But can anyone explain how 2mm of dog hair got under the Land Rover fitted full boot liner 😩
Bought a roll of plastic carpet protector that’s going on in the morning!
Bloody dogs

Got back last night from an 800 mile round trip since Friday. Got stuck on an M6 traffic jam on the way south in 33 deg; air-con kept us cool. Haven't seen so many cars pulled over with the bonnet up for years.
Drove back north in intermitent torrential rain; new tyres felt great and even my better half commented on how quiet things were.
Cruise control on at 75 when conditions permitted; averaged 34 mpg.
No discernable drop in oil level since last weeks scare.
Still not solved the diesel leak when I fill her to the brim.
Odometer now reading 239,373 miles; less than 10 thousand to the quarter million.

Had a check of the drivers side strut mounts and main nut to see if they are the source of the annoying knock I have still present. all were tight as can be so I'm definitely suspecting the top mount/bearing.

I also discovered some contamination in the coolant. I had a problem with some contamination a while ago and had the system thouroughly flushed and pressure tested etc but nothing was found. The cooland looks a bit dark which concerns me everso slightly but the contamination is sitting in the bottom of the header and there is no oil present. Something else to investigate and add to the list!

My oil cooler failed, filled the coolant with engine oil. That definitely floated on the coolant though. Maybe give it another flush?

The oil cooler went on mine a few years ago too. I don't think it's one of the coolers though as it really doesn't appear like there is any oil in the coolant. My slight worry is combustion stuff obviously. There is a dark residue in the bottom of the header and the coolant is definitely a bit on the dark side.

I will do a flush and refill in the next few weeks though.

@andyfreelandy you might want to keep the head you've taken off recently handy...
