There is a theory that the fluid in the VCU calendar ages when not mixed for some time. IIRC GKN haven't made a new VCU since 2010, which makes even new VCUs over a decade old.
Keep an eye on it, and test it regularly.
So it's approaching 8 years old.

We only had our Springer pup Freddie a few months when it happened and he was a great help but we still miss Alfie.
