Literally just a bar of clay, that is supposed clean off grime that just washing doesn't.

For that " showroom finish".

I have one sitting in the garage doing nothing

Played with my idea of a cheap diy front fog light switch! Pictures to follow

Fixed the play in my wipers. All sorted then went onto measuring up so I can make a bed in the back for overnight camping.

Anyone done it to a freelander?

Yer need to warm up the clay a bit and knead it to make it soft. Some clays work ok with water as a lube but others need a proper lube to help them slide over the surface. Some are just crap. Try bilt hamber. As the crap gets collected in the clay you have to fold it over and squeeze it flat again to give you a fresh clay surface. Have a look on detailing world fer betterer help. Yes, I 've built a storage box for the boot which is the same height as the rear seats when folded, will put a pic up tomorrow.

I think you may be right!

But no matter how I tried I couldn't avoid bit of grit magically appearing in the bar.

Suppose it must need to be done undercover preferably.

The whole point of them is to remove the ingrained dirt, as gritty dirt (not just dirty colour) appears on the surface, fold the bar to a clean part.
The bar should be kneaded in the hand for a good 10-15 mins first to soften it up before use, and a good quality lubricant (quick detailing sprays (such as Meguiars or QD+) are great and cheaper than the specific "lube" that a lot of companies try to give you) should be used liberally, so that the surface is always wet, never try and drag it across a dry surface because thats when the scratches come in.

Unfortunately, you are a bit too far from me otherwise I would gladly have exchanged some five pound notes for it.
I would bang it on ebay rather than it sitting in your garage gathering dust. Some on there for £20-£30+

Had injector number 2 replaced today on the Td4. Running sweet now. No smoke either.

No took it to simon services in Normanton. Haven't got the know how to be messing with the fuel system. They did the leak back test then whipped all 4 injectors over to wakefield diesel centre who said it was number 2 that was faulty. Good service
